Therapeutic Foster Care

The Therapeutic Foster Care program (TFC) will focus on encouraging the children and adolescents to reach their full potential by providing and supporting child-family relationships, empowering self-efficiency and promoting family unity intended to last a lifetime. Within this model of care, Therapeutic Foster Care is seen as a collaborative process between the foster families, the child’s own family, the child and C.F.F. Treatment team. The child’s family members are encouraged to actively participate in the family assessment, specialized planning, and development of strength based goals and ongoing review of progress. The goals of placement and the plan of action necessary to achieve the goals will be jointly decided with the child, family, specialized family and the C.F.F. Treatment team.

Immediate position available:
  • Master’s level Therapist: This person will be employed in the TFC program.

Major components of the role for TFC are:
  • Coordinate all of the services and supports outlined in the plan of care according to agency, county and state policies.
  • Working closely with the foster family to share in the day to day responsibilities related to the child's care (such as transportation, scheduling appointments, etc.)
  • Developing and implementing treatment plans ( ISP's) for all children in the program
  • Providing clinical interventions and counsel as needed to implement the treatment plan
  • Engaging the child's biological family or family of origin in the appropriate areas of treatment as needed, if applicable
  • Working closely with Foster Parents to partner in relation to the implementation of interventions

Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Master ’s Degree in the Human Service Field
  • Two years of experience providing services for children and families
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Available for on-call rotation
