Grateful

"We are grateful for the support and honesty provided by CFF and our two family therapists. Without them, we would not be where we are today.

When our youngest daughter was 12 years old, she was out of control; having trouble getting along and following rules both at home and at school. After school detentions and out of school suspensions were all too familiar.

Two CFF therapists were assigned to help our family. We had been suffering for a long time and were often in a state of crisis. Our own negative attitudes and responses to her poor behavior were hurting her which caused even more turmoil in our home. We had a problem forgiving her, and as a result, we were all miserable.

Through CFF’s involvement with our family, we have come a long way. They helped our daughter take control and responsibility for her own behavior, as well as help the family members to be more understanding and supportive of her situation. At the conclusion of our time with CFF, we held a slate breaking/forgiveness ceremony. The purpose of this ceremony was to communicate our pain and grief as individuals to one another and to forgive our traumatized family member for the ways she strained our family unit.

We still have our good and bad days, but the good days come more often and stay much longer. We are thankful to God for allowing CFF to help our family."
