COMMUNITY OUTREACH DEPARTMENT
Child and Family Focus has been expanding our programs in an effort to serve more families
in need in more counties in Pennsylvania. In addition to the three core services CFF
began with – Family Based, Therapeutic Foster Care and Respite – we offer a wide array of
services to our continuum of care. These new services speak to our philosophy of providing
quality community based supports for children and families. This ongoing expansion of
services at CFF led to the development of CFF Community Outreach Services These Community
Outreach Services include:
- Family Mentors- providing advocacy services to parents of children with mental health disorders
- Family Support Advocates-providing advocacy services to parent of children with mental health disorders in the Juvenile Probation system
- Foster and Respite family recruitment services
- Love and Logic education/training- offering “simple and practical techniques to help parents and teachers have less stress and more fun while raising responsible kids.”
- Sibshop support workshop- offering workshop for siblings of children with mental health disorders.
- Bucks County Family Connection Center- Through The Family Connection Center (FCC), families and youth will partner with agencies and other organizations to strengthen the parent/youth/professional relationship.
TREATMENT SERVICES
CFF recognizes that the needs of children and families at-risk can be extremely
complex and that school personnel, social workers, therapists, family
development specialists and administrators must work together to best meet
these needs. Treatment services are provided by a two-person team through
intensive treatment interventions in the family's home or in the therapeutic
foster home.
CFF Autism Family Based Services offer a unique approach to helping the child
and the family of the child, who has been diagnosed with a developmental
disability within the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Click here to learn more.
Child and Family Focus, Inc. (CFF) offers an exceptional program of therapeutic
foster care (TFC). Like typical foster care, a child unable to live with his /
her own family lives with a foster family who temporarily provides basic care.
TFC families provide this and more. They go to a higher level as part of a
therapeutic team to provide emotional healing and behavioral supports. TFC
families help children help children to learn to live in a healthy family
environment and become an active member of the community. Click here to learn more.
Intensive "in-home" treatment and services for families aimed at:
- Strengthening the family in meeting the needs of their child
- Teaching the child strategies to use in place of maladaptive behaviors
- Preventing out of home placement
- Serving as a follow up to out of home placement

CFF’s Extended Assessment Program provides services to Montgomery County children
and families presenting with complex needs that may be difficult to assess in an
office setting. Our goal is to determine the most appropriate level and intensity
of care needed through a comprehensive evaluation of the child. The Extended
Assessment team is comprised of an Intake Specialist, Program Coordinator and
Psychologist.

CFF’s Children’s Review Team is for Chester County families who are considering
placing their child in an out of home placement. It is the mechanism to insure that
every community resource and option for a child has been considered and exhausted
prior to a child being referred to a therapeutic foster care program or a residential
treatment facility. The Children’s Review Team will facilitate and connect children
to the most appropriate mental health service as deemed by the Interagency Service
Planning Team.

The wraparound process is a way to improve the lives of children with complex needs and their families. It is not a program or a type of service. The process is used by communities to support children with complex needs and their families by developing individualized plans of care. The key characteristics of the process are that the plan is developed by a family centered team, is individualized based on the strengths and culture of the child and their family, and is needs rather than services driven.
FFSBS will work with the child and family, along with other involved community members to develop an individualized family focused child centered service that addresses the behavioral health needs of the child and assists the parent/guardian in supporting the child’s needs. Services are provided in the home and community setting to assist the child/adolescent and family in being successful.
