According to Merriam-Webster, the word respite means "an interval of rest or relief". CFF’s Respite Care Program provides short term, temporary care to families who need just that: an interval of relief from the daily challenges that come with caring for a child with a mental health need.
Qualifying families receive care that is tailored to meet their child’s needs. Depending upon the specific needs, our respite services can be provided on an hourly or overnight basis, and can take place in the home of the child, in the home of the respite provider, or in the community.
If you reside in Bucks, Chester, or Delaware Counties and have a child (age 3-21) with a mental health diagnosis and minimal childcare support, your child may be referred to our program. (Please call if you live in a neighboring county to discuss eligibility). After we receive the referral, we will speak with your referral source and may conduct a face-to-face assessment of your child and family to determine if, and how much, respite is appropriate.
